The committee meets quarterly to review and update on members unable to attend church services, sharing recent visits and calls. This outreach ministry, started by Susan Stites, is a vital part of our church’s commitment to care and connection. Its goal is to ensure no one feels forgotten and everyone stays part of our church family, even from afar. For meeting dates or to get involved, contact the church office.
This dedicated group meets every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the church library to pray for our church family and community. Their prayers are thoughtful and intentional, offering encouragement and support. They also send cards as a tangible expression of love, reminding recipients they are not alone. This ministry beautifully shows Christ’s love in action, connecting with others through faith and compassion.
Each month, encouraging cards are sent to the dedicated teachers at Fannin, lovingly organized by Risa Marx. Participants can join by writing messages of appreciation and placing them in the blue plaid collection box outside the church office. This meaningful gesture reminds Fannin teachers they are seen, valued, and prayed for by our church community.
This community garden has thrived for over 15 years, providing free fresh vegetables at a stand on W. 4th Ave. Led by Oscar Galvan, the garden welcomes help from anyone passionate about gardening or seeking a meaningful way to serve. Operation Christmas Child, a partnership between Samaritan’s Purse and First Methodist Church, provides children worldwide with shoeboxes filled with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. Started at FMC in 2019, the project has grown from 25 to nearly 500 boxes. This mission shares God’s message globally and brings joy to many children. Joy Dill is the dedicated organizer for this important outreach.
